Commvault Data Protection Administrator

We are seeking a Commvault Data Protection Administrator in Austin, TX.
The Data Protection Administrator - will be responsible for providing hands on technical support of our large enterprise managed services customers. Day to day responsibilities of the Data Protection Administrator will include the administration of the customer’s enterprise data protection, disaster recovery, archive and backup storage environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide day to day operations of enterprise data protection environments for our Managed Services clients, including data protection system configuration; storage design and configuration for the data protection environment; and data copy and replication design and configuration
  • Participate in architecture discussions and meeting with client infrastructure coordinators, architecture, application technology and management teams
  • Provide guidance and technical expertise on data protection software, server and storage configuration, best practices and troubleshooting to the data protection administrators
  • Provide advanced performance and system diagnostics in the data protection and disaster recovery environment
  • Work with storage administrators and client resources to plan architecture, upgrades and capacity planning in the customer’s environments
  • Participate in problem management and project meetings as needed
  • Participate in the Collective development efforts to build an operations portal and reporting tool specifically for CommVault environments by providing key insights into the day to day management of CommVault environments
  • Provide “on call” support as needed for customer environments
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ working experience with enterprise data protection and disaster recovery technologies, preferably with Commvault Simpana
  • Solid understanding of backup, data protection, disaster recovery and storage concepts
  • Working experience in a supporting role with the ability, manage workloads, projects and deliverables, coordinate resources and overcome obstacles as a self-starter and coordinating with the rest of the data protection support team
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
