Veritas Storage Foundation Resident

We are seeking an onsite Veritas Storage Foundation Resident for our Professional Services team. 
 
Optimize IT Operations:
  • Advise and contribute to technical projects.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of any upgrades, deployments, patches or disaster recovery testing.
  • Perform configuration and environment reviews.
  • Assist with production planning to minimize risk to the operating environment and Veritas product(s).
  • Assist in the planning and technical management of proactive engagements.
  • Assist with planning and support of evaluations for new features and functionalities within the Veritas product(s).
  • Provide technical detail and actively participate in the account-planning process and in quarterly business reviews to assess program's status and strategic direction relative to the Customer's business objectives.
Stabilize IT Infrastructure:
  • Diagnose technical issues encountered with Veritas product(s).
  • Monitor and manage escalated issues and serve as the single technical point of contact.
  • Provide monitoring and incident response during non-routine activities.
  • Assist in the identification of processes to help Customer ensure that the Veritas product(s) installed, or to be installed, are installed in a manner compatible with such product(s)’ Veritas requirements for supported configurations/environment.
  • Provide informal knowledge transfer to Customer staff who covers the management and maintenance of the Veritas product(s).
    • Assist with implementations that include:
      • Replication service for Disaster Recovery
      • Clustering services for DIME, SAS, Data Lake, Customer Information System and several other applications within SunTrust that currently depend upon Veritas clustering
      • Clustering services as a replacement for existing IBM Series HA Cluster
      • Clustering services that will reside on internal private cloud  
 Expedited Response:
  • Provide proactive and reactive advice on issues regarding upgrades, patches and impact alerts.
  • Provide response or clarification for any relevant Veritas product-related questions in the course of daily operations.
    • Coordinate with Veritas technical support to resolve product issue escalations to assist in faster resolution and reduce unplanned downtime
    • Assist in troubleshooting and providing technical details for probable cause analysis of break/fix issues encountered.
Provide product training / knowledge transfer.
