Director of Information Technology

Director of Information Technology
FLSA Classification: Full-time, Exempt, Salary
Location: Onsite in Meeker, CO

The IT Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire Information Technology department and ensuring that our technology systems are reliable, up-to-date, and meet the needs of the facility.

Essential Functions
  • Overseeing all IT operations, facility communications and infrastructure.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating IT projects in line with organizational objectives.
  • Partnering with other departments to determine and address their IT needs and requirements.
  • Managing and guiding IT employees and providing them with development opportunities.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of current EMR projects including interface builds and supporting technology.
  • Preparing financial budgets and performance reports.
  • Ensuring reported issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Exercising analytical and problem-solving skills to support and resolve issues.
  • Developing IT strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Purchasing equipment and software and developing implementation plans.
  • Seeking opportunities for grants to keep technology affordable and up-to-date.
  • Manage and support technical IT, clinical IT teams and helpdesk.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or Technology related field
  • 10+ years’ experience working in IT operations in healthcare environments, supervising technology teams and overseeing large information technology projects, with 5 years in advanced or management positions
  • Experience with administering Active Directory (AD) and GPO’s
  • Experience with administering DNS, DHCP, WINS, DFS and other Windows Server related technologies in a Windows environment
  • Knowledge of Firewalls
  • Understanding of Network principles and concepts (Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN )
  • Understanding of infrastructure and server theories, principles, and concepts
  • Experience with Juniper Mist Wi-Fi based technologies
  • Experience with VMware vSphere and Horizon
  • Experience with O365 preferred
  • Understanding of Physical Server architecture
  • Knowledge of VoIP Phones ( Mitel ) preferred
  • Knowledge of EMR products ( Athena Health and Meditech ) preferred
  • Hospital experience with knowledge of Hospital Applications (PACS, Pyxis, Lab Instruments, Surgery Applications, Nurse Call System) preferred.
